Sometimes, it is possible to install an implant immediately after tooth extraction, within the same procedure. This significantly reduces the duration of the entire therapy, while the success rate remains the same. This kind of procedure demands that certain conditions be fulfilled – for example, that the tooth is extracted atraumatically in order for the bone to remain intact, that there is no inflammation at the implantation site, that the bones at the implantation site are sufficiently ˝healthy˝ and other anatomically favourable conditions. Likewise, it is sometimes also possible to immediately load a newly installed implant. Such procedures are usually applied to the aesthetically more prominent parts of the oral cavity, in situations when the patient finds it unacceptable to have a tooth missing during the entire coalescence period of the implant.
